24 hour delay for Norwich flight

Passengers flying to Italy from Norwich Airport over the weekend suffered a delay of almost 24 hours because of bad weather, the EDP reports. The Viking Airlines operated flight for Newmarket Holidays was scheduled to take off from Norwich at 13:45 on Sunday. It t was initially delayed for 4 hours and then the decision was taken not to fly that day because of the weather conditions at the airport.
A spokeswoman for Norwich Airport told the newspaper: ‘The weather conditions were bad on the runway, and the captain was not happy taking off.’ The passengers, many of whom were elderly, were put on buses which took them to Stansted Airport, where they stayed at an airport hotel overnight. They finally left for their destination at 11:00 yesterday.
