Airport seeks new investors; not for sale
26.10.08
The owners of Norwich Airport are reported to be courting new investors to develop the site - but deny they are planning to sell up. The Eastern Daily Press says that Omniport has recently hosted a range of potential investors, sparking speculation that it may be pulling out.
However, the airport's managing director, Richard Jenner, told the EDP: ‘The airport is not up for sale. We are always keen to develop the airport and its facilities, sometimes in partnership with others who want to invest in developments, but that doesn't mean the airport is up for sale.'
Andrew Bell, from Omniport, said the company was committed to developing the airport. He told the newspaper: ‘It is entirely normal for an investment operator such as Omniport to host visits at its portfolio assets for a wide variety of reasons. These are of course commercially sensitive and therefore confidential.'
