An Estonian student caught trying to smuggle almost 50,000 cigarettes into the UK via Norwich Airport has been jailed for 8 weeks - and will be deported after serving his sentence - the Evening News reports.
Andrei Selevits, 21, was stopped at the airport last Sunday carrying 3 bags filled with the cigarettes, which weighed 20 kilos. Three months ago he was given a warning notice after trying to smuggle a similar number of cigarettes into the UK via Exeter Airport. He was charged with both offences and jailed.
