Eastern cancel Norwich Airport - Manchester flights

Eastern Airways is cancelling its service between Norwich and Manchester Airport because of competition from low-cost rival Flybe.
Eastern, which currently operates two daily flights between Manchester and Norwich, said in March that it was waiting to see how its services were affected after Flybe announced it was starting the same route from May 25. Yesterday a spokesman for the airline confirmed it would no longer be operating the service after May 30.
The Eastern spokesman said: 'It has been a good niche market for us for the last six years but the problem is the route cannot sustain two operators so we have taken the fairly tough decision to withdraw. Customers who have booked flights to Manchester for after May 30 can get a refund on 08703 669 989.'
