LTE flights 'suspended until late March'
08.11.08
Struggling Spanish airline LTE has suspended flights from Norwich Airport until the end of March. The Spanish Civil Aviation Authority has forced LTE to stop its scheduled services until a possible purchase of the company, by what LTE refers to as a ‘major European group’, is finalised.
Michael Harrington, managing director of LTE, said: ‘The group concerned is currently going through ‘due diligence’ with a view to completing the sale as soon as possible. As soon as this has happened, we hope to be up and running again and in a much stronger position. We will then come back to Norwich to re-launch our services. We still hope that the position will be resolved before Christmas.’
However, Travel Norwich Airport said all bookings on scheduled flights from the airport through to the end of March were cancelled by the airline yesterday.
