Flybe passenger numbers up 16%

The latest monthly passenger figures for low-cost airline Flybe show a 16% increase against last year. The airline said it had been 'a strong start to 2006', as it prepared to celebrate the anniversary of its flights from Norwich Airport.
Nearly 10,000 passengers used Norwich airport in January, while Flybe's total passenger numbers from all airports reached 287,000. A Flybe spokesman said it has carried 160,000 passengers from Norwich so far.
Last month, the biggest growth in passenger numbers was from Manchester airport, with the opening of new routes leading to a 106% increase.
