A plane made an emergency landing at Norwich Airport this week. The KLM Fokka 50 aircraft, with 32 passengers on board, made an emergency landing on Wednesday evening after one of its engines failed.
The plane was diverted to Norwich while en route from Heathrow to Rotterdam. Emergency services - including a number of ambulances, 4 fire engines, 2 water carriers, an emergency tender and a chemical unit - were placed on full crash alert after receiving reports that an aircraft coming into land was in distress and attended the schene. However, the plane landed safely at about 18:20.
A spokesman for KLM said: 'The plane had left Heathrow en route to Rotterdam when the captain discovered it had a problem with one of the engines. It had to be diverted to Norwich where it landed safely. The passengers were booked on other flights.'
